Mykonos provides a well-developed road network, offering visitors easy access to the surrounding villages and beaches. As it is a top island destination for people from all over the world, Mykonos is extremely crowded during summer and there is much traffic, especially when heading towards the most popular beaches of the island (Paradise and Super Paradise).Don't forget to get informed about how to get to Mykonos in order to optimize your travel.

Public buses

The central bus stations of Mykonos are Fabrika and Old Port. From these stations buses depart frequently, covering routes to almost all places around the island and certainly to the most tourist areas. Buses are the cheapest way to move around the island and the local bus service carries out many routes on a daily basis from early in the morning until late at night. Get information about timetables on www.mykonosbus.com.

Sea bus

The sea bus of Mykonos connects the New port with the Old port of the island. Between the starting and finishing points of the route, there are two intermediate stops close to bus and taxi stations.
Also, some other sea buses depart from the Old Port for Paradise beach (with intermediate stops) and Delos island.
You can get further information about routes and timetables on www.mykonos-seabus.gr.

Taxis and private transfers

Taxis can be found in Chora, the main village of Mykonos, at the new port and the airport of the island. In Chora, the taxi station is located at the central square of Mykonos Town, right next of the statue of Manto Mavrogenous. Although a taxi is an expensive alternative comparing to buses, it is definitely the most comfortable mean of transport and transfers you to your destination fast.

We recommend using the app 'iMove' to order taxis.

Car and Motorbike Rentals

With a car or motorcycle, you can explore the island at your own pace and gain access to the most secluded areas! In case you don't have your own vehicle, it is an excellent idea to rent a car for your sightseeing trips! However, make sure that you drive safe because there is much traffic on the island in high season.
